Bio

Mr. Dan Nemeth is a 2007 graduate from Mercer High School. Following high school, Mr. Nemeth attended the University of Pittsburgh where he received a double major in History and Political Science. He continued his studies at Pitt in 2012, earning his Master of Arts in Teaching degree in Secondary Social Studies education. He earned his principal certificate from Slippery Rock University in 2022.

 

Professionally, Mr. Nemeth began his teaching career in Howard County, Maryland where he taught middle school Social Studies at Patuxent Valley Middle School. After five years in Maryland, Mr. Nemeth spent seven years teaching at Grove City High School. Beginning in the 2023 school year, Mr. Nemeth served as the Learning Loss Interventionist/Dean of Students at Grove City Middle School.

 

Over the past two years, Mr. Nemeth worked with a cohort of Pennsylvania instructors to be trained through the National Center on Education and the Economy. Through a careful analysis of the highest performing jurisdictions in the world, NCEE helps school leaders craft the means necessary to create high performing education and workforce systems. Mr. Nemeth’s efforts through NCEE allowed him to be selected to present to a conference of teachers, researchers, policymakers, and community stakeholders at the #PANeedsTeachers 2023 Conference.

 

Outside of working with students in secondary education, Mr. Nemeth also serves as an adjunct education professor at Grove City College where he teaches preservice teachers Social Studies Instructional Methods. Training the next generation of future educators has become a passion of Mr. Nemeth through his work at GCC. An avid baseball fan, Mr. Nemeth has served as a coach in a number of capacities from little league to high school. This continues to allow him to teach the love of sports to his four children. Mr. Nemeth resides in Grove City with his wife and four children.
